Hey boys and girls, just a quick post to let you know about the pattern and fabric swap happening in central London next week.
I have long been meaning to go to a swap, so much so that I even imagined organising one myself. Of course I never managed to get my act together and actually do something about it, so when I saw the thread on the Fold Line Forum, I jumped for joy!
What’s the point of a swap? Guilt-free novelty, that’s what, my friends!! And this works two fold: I get to feel less guilty about impulse purchases that just sat in my stash for years which will be given a better home. And I might get hold of some fabric and patterns that I wanted for a while, but felt too guilty to buy because of the size of my afore mentioned stash of both.
Now, I have never been to a swap before, so my expectations might be completely misguided… Do chip in if you know better! But the way I see it, even if I end up not getting anything new, I will get to meet a bunch of awesome sewing people and have a good sewing natter!
So, hope to see as many of you London sewists there as possible. Here are the deets:
The meet-up is organised by Kirsty from Scientific Sewing.
We are meeting at 1 PM in Central London, Wardour Street at a pub called Waxy’s Little Sister, here’s how to get there. We’ll be upstairs.
Come on, you know you want to destash! Go rummage through your boxes and meet us there!!
