I feel that I definitely did not make enough jumpsuits this year! And as you guys know, I absolutely LOVE them. I had planned this one for ‘Jumping into June’ challenge, but I didn’t even get close to finishing this one in by then. So here I am showing this red knit jumpsuit in mid-August, but with my track record and the backlog of unblogged projects, this is really not too bad.
So, as I was saying, I’m a sucker for a new jumpsuit pattern. And I was looking for a new summer TNT pattern for a while, as an alternative for my all time favourite pattern, V9075. I have been following Nikki from Beaute J’adore for years now, so when I heard she is releasing a range of patterns for McCalls, I was intrigued. M7444 got on my radar and after umming and erring for a while, I bit the bullet and bought it in a sale.
Guys, beware! The jumpsuit season chez Sewrendipity has begun! Again! Yes, that’s a few good months to go until #JumpIntoJune hopefully kicks off again. But as I was saying in my previous post, sometimes a fabric + a pattern just equal love, and you have to go for it! And I do love my jumpsuits, and as a matter of fact, my culottes too!
Hello sewosphere, feeling Christmasy? I have been accused several times this week of being the Grinch – my husband even suggested I use some of the green paint from my Wicked Halloween costume to fit the part better :). So this is definitely not going to be in the spirit, although there is a bit of sparkle to be had.
This year I made two jumpsuits (a halter neck here and a culottes suit here), plus two playsuits (a beach-y one here and a silky one here). I clearly took that Jumping into June challenge serious. Btw, Chris at is hosting a Jeans January themed month, which I have a feeling might kick off my jeans making obsession. (more…)
Thank you all so much for your comments on my previous post. I took all your advice and chilled out from my online sewcial life for a while and also spent my time sewing rather than reading about sewing. Or blogging for that matter. But there was only so much hiatus I could take without feeling guilty, so here I am back in the blogging saddle…
I have a new summer project to show you, although I absolutely froze my behind on my balcony while taking the pictures… What the what, Great British Summer??!!!! I actually finished this on Saturday, but we were in a hurry to go see our friends and didn’t get a chance to take pictures, Then yesterday it was tipping it down in London, so I hurried home from work tonight to hopefully catch some light, otherwise this post would never happen.
Whew, boys and girls, looks like I survived my busiest period of the year at work! That explains the absence, as I was hardly at home in the last weeks, let alone able to do any sewing! It all went very well, in case you were worried, and now were back to regularly scheduled programmes.
Soooo, looks like we might actually get some summer this year and, as the incurable optimist that I find myself, I proceeded to end my sewing hiatus with a quick and easy-breezy playsuit. I wanted to submit another mini-entry to the Jumping into June competition, if Chris is still taking submissions :). Here are a few of the entries so far. Plus, you might remember that I’m getting married in October in the sunny Caribbean, so no time like the present to beef up my summer wardrobe.
Hello sewing boys and girls! Here we are with a potentially incoherent post tonight, as I am suffering from intense self inflicted sleep depravation… I had a very interesting weekend, to say the least and really pushing myself to finish this post and officially join the Jump into June ladies.
