After a bit of a leave of absence to accommodate a little camping holiday in Devon, I finally have the pink culottes ready and photographed for you. Because everybody needs a pair of hot pink gaucho trousers in their wardrobe, am I right?
I saw this pattern a while back, but it absolutely skyrocketed to the top of my sewing list thanks to Lucy at Sew Essential and her offer to do a collaboration. I have known Sew Essential for a long time now. I often ordered haberdashery and sewing tools from them in the past, as well as patterns, but never actually considered buying fabric. July has been heavy on the sewing but unfortunately, a tad light on the finished garments front. That is because I was working on a more complicated unselfish sewing project, which was full of firsts for me, so I had quite a big learning curve to deal with, plus a very active social life, which didn’t help very much either. But all ended well, so I can go back to selfish sewing and some show & tell for you soon!
My life is full of trousers in various stages of completion at the moment. I have taken a break from jeans making with a bit of culottes making, and a break from that with a top, which I thought will be a quick make. But since we’re talking Burda Style here, of course, it was anything but. However, still a nice little top to show for it, plus a really cool photo shoot on top of the Shard to delight you with.
Just to manage your expectations, this post is really not about sewing. Or only just a bit about sewing. I mean, it does feature something I’ve sewn, but that’s a rerun, so not that much to talk about. This is a very self-indulgent and a bit of a vain post, so you might want to switch off now…
I’m stupidly busy at work at the moment, so not a lot of sewing time, but I did manage to squeeze a few more projects to sew & show you before the end of April. As I anticipated in the previous post, I did end up making more Inaris, this time the top version, with a few alterations.
